The organizers of EYOF 2022 Banská Bystrica presented the event to representatives of national sports associations

Cooperation with national sports federations is crucial for the organizing committee of the European Youth Olympic Festival 2022 Banská Bystrica. It is one of the key conditions for the success of this event.
In order to provide up-to-date information on the preparations for the largest multi-sport event in the history of Slovakia, the organizing committee held a meeting with representatives of eleven sports together with Ivan Husár, the State Secretary for Sports at the Ministry of Education and sports of the Slovak Republic.
“Our goal is to prepare EYOF, which will make Slovakia and Banská Bystrica visible, and give us opportunity to show that also our small country is capable of organizing big international event. EYOF can also help with the development of sport in Slovakia and its popularization among young people,” said Ján Nosko, President of the Organizing Committee and Mayor of Banská Bystrica.
During the meeting, representatives of sports associations received basic information about the entire project, including the proposed program and budget. They also learned about sports venues, reconstruction plans, structure of EYOF participants, accommodation and transport projects as well as other important issues regarding the event preparation (media operations, marketing, security, health, anti-doping, catering, sustainability etc.).
“One of the strengths of EYOF will be the Sports Park in Štiavničky, where six sports will take place – athletics, swimming, judo, tennis, badminton and triathlon. The sports park is close to the accommodation facilities, which athletes will certainly appreciate,” said Peter Hamaj, Executive Director of EYOF 2022 Banská Bystrica.
Strategic meeting of this kind end extent will take place in regular intervals also in the future. In addition, individual meetings with representatives of sports associations also continue. “The national sports associations will help us with quality people in terms of staff, material and technical support as well as promotion,” concluded Peter Hamaj.
