Victory Ceremonies

The aim of the Victory ceremony is to honour the athletes who have won a medal at the EYOF in a festive atmosphere and to promote Olympic values. EYOF is the gateway to the Olympic Games, and many of the medallists from the festival have gone on to win valuable metal at the Olympic Games.

The decoration of the athletes takes place at the competition venue. The athletes in the first three places are awarded gold, silver and bronze medals. In addition to the medals, athletes are awarded an official mascot.

120 Victory ceremonies at 13 sports venues await Banská Bystrica during the 6 competition days. When creating the concept of the Victory ceremony for EYOF Banská Bystrica 2022, the organizing committee relied on the presentation of local producers and suppliers.

The medals are in the shape of a heart, which is symbolic in relation to the venue of the festival. The city of Banská Bystrica is often referred to as the heart of Slovakia.

Design of the medals - Karol Krištofovič, Production of the medals - Kremnica Mint

The medals will be presented during the ceremonies by members of the University Folklore Ensemble (UFS) Mladosť. The medals will be presented on handmade wooden trays from Slovak linden wood.

The accompanying music was created in cooperation with the Ján Levoslav Bella Conservatory in Banská Bystrica, with the aim of involving young students in the process of creating music for young athletes. The fanfare and music were recorded in cooperation with the orchestra of the Banská Bystrica State Opera.

The Victory ceremony podiums on which the medallists will be decorated are made of 100% recycled material, which was provided by Chemosvit - the EYOF Banská Bystrica 2022 partner, in accordance with the event's sustainability concept.
