What will EYOF bring? Visitors, promotion of the region and Slovakia

The organisation of a large sporting event also means the promotion of the venue, the region and the whole country. The European Olympic Youth Festival is no exception, which will play a key role in promoting Banská Bystrica and the whole of Slovakia.

Just like at the big Olympics, also thanks to EYOF, it is possible to present Slovakia to the European sports world. Especially during the opening and closing ceremonies, it is possible to present elements of Slovak traditions. Slovak culture will also be included in the individual parts of EYOF (medal, mascot), through which it is possible to bring everything closer to the participants.
As an EYOF organiser, Banská Bystrica will rank among the TOP European cities
Thanks to the European Youth Olympic Festival, Banská Bystrica will be one of the most important European cities, where the summer version has already been organised. We are talking about cities like Paris, Brussels, Lisbon, Belgrade or Baku. Thanks to this title, it will be easier to win other major international sporting events and once again promote the city, the region and the whole of Slovakia abroad.
A total of 7,000 foreign participants on site
Several thousand athletes and team members will arrive in Banská Bystrica at the end of July. All participants will experience the atmosphere of the city and get to know the monuments, customs and traditions of the region. Thanks to social networks, visitors to the region will expand the reach of Slovak traditions. Many of the participants will then return to the region over a period of time or recommend Slovakia to their friends.
Several million foreign viewers via TV broadcasting, livestreaming, social networks
The individual competitions will be streamed and broadcast throughout Europe. Not only sports fans will have the opportunity to watch sports live or recorded. During the streams, the city of Banská Bystrica will be presented through various shots of the city and monuments during the individual broadcasts.
Raised awareness of the city and region, increase of tourism and traffic
Banská Bystrica and the region will be the topic before and especially during EYOF. The region and the whole of Slovakia will become more attractive and its prosperity will increase.
